Mountain View DevelopmentA ground breaking ceremony took place on October 17th at Mountain View Development, a 20 apartment complex in La Junta. The housing development will be located on Lincoln Avenue across the street from the College Overlook Apartments. This is a joint construction project being undertaken by Tri-County Housing and Southeast Mental Health Services. This project was made possible by a grant from the US Dept of Housing and Urban Development in the amount of $1,673,900. Additional funds were received from the following: Colorado Division of Housing; the Federal Home Loan Bank; Rural LISC; Mercy Loan Fund; and NeighborWorks America. Mountain View will not only provide housing for persons with disabilities, but provide for the welfare of these individuals, as well. Some of the supportive services planned are the development of individualized goals and timelines, crisis planning, skill development, and social interaction.
